Riverside County Code Enforcement Aide (CEA) Angie Solis was presented the Employee of the Quarter Award for her high level of service, many achievements and accolades from her peers, other departments and various community members. CEO Solis also went above and beyond her normal duties while demonstrating her true character in an emergency situation. A van stopped in front of the Western Regional Code Enforcement office as Angie and other staff arrived for work on the morning of January 23rd. The male driver exited the vehicle and yelled that his wife was in labor. CEA Solis leapt into action and assisted with the delivery of the newborn. Staff had 911 on the phone as Angie coached the mother though the delivery. CEA Solis swaddled the baby and comforted the mother until paramedics could arrive shortly thereafter. Angie shall be forever etched in their history, as she also had to sign the birth certificate.
